Quick Start Guide for the Gym
Find a gym that fits your style and intensity of exercising. Make sure it has the right equipment that is necessary for you to achieving your goals.
So since it has been a while, you’ll want to start in the cardio & stretching area. The reason this is important is because we need to get your heart & muscles ready before loading them up with heavy weights. Heart for the endurance, muscle for hypertrophy (lean tissue growth)
Begin with a 5 minute warm up on the treadmill. Start by slowly increasing your speed from a fast walk to a brisk jog by the 4th minute.
Once done go to the stretching area and work on the full body. Here are a few stretches that will hit the majority of your muscles, decreasing the time you spend stretching:
Lower Body: Lunge with Arm to Floor (Please perform on a yoga mat)
Upper Body: Neck & Shoulders
Back: Thoracic Foam Roll (If there’s one available)
Overall: Childs Pose (Please perform on a yoga mat)
